The National Council on Undergraduate Research was held at the University of North Carolina-Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina. The Plenary Speakers were dynamic and I finally had the pleasure of seeing and hearing from Bryant Terry.
He shared very interesting tips with everyone pertaining to food desserts and the importance of putting healthy foods in our bodies for physical & mental happiness. Also, he concluded his presentation with a cooking demonstration. Although, I was sitting pretty far away from him, I enjoyed watching all of those leafy greens that he was packing inside of the pans.
This conference was a total hit from the food to the sessions to the "meditation" room between sessions. YES!!!

| This conference consisted of four thousand students that were accepted to present at the 30th Annual conference. As an educator, it was beautiful to see student learners excited about presenting their research projects. As well as their kindness and eagerness to support fellow researchers that they met for the first time. Myself and a colleague had the pleasure of accompanying six students as well as presenting on the Faculty (FAN) track during the conference. During NCUR, I met several colleagues that were interested in embedding research within undergraduate courses. Therefore, our session was packed and there were several questions at the conclusion of the session. Therefore, it appeared that our topic met the objectives that we set for the purpose of our presentation. My best feature during the conference, the #NCUR2016 app, it was awesome and served as a guide during the entire conference. Take Away: Undergraduate Learners have the ability to conduct research & to present it in a very confident manner whether through poster or an oral presentation. |
