COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will develop advanced skills in social work research and writing/ presentation of findings This course will allow the students to participate in community-based research allowing the students to further develop a project, learn advanced research techniques, and present their project in three ways: in a professional presentation, in a classroom training, and in written, publishable form. The students will develop graduate and professional level skills in presenting and writing research findings.
NATURE OF COURSE: The students will work with faculty on a Participatory Action Research project of his/ her choosing. The students will be able to participate in various facets of the research while developing advanced research skills including research design, crafting a careful methodology, developing better understanding of data analysis, and presenting research in oral and written formats.
